Michael Jackson - Michael Jackson Tour Footage To Sell For Millions
    14 November 2011 04:15:20

A Michael Jackson documentary, filmed during his 1992/1993 'Dangerous World Tour' is set to make more than £4 million when it goes up for sale next month.

A previously unseen Michael Jackson documentary could make more than £4 million when it goes up for auction later this month.

The backstage footage from the King of Pop's 1992/1993 'Dangerous World Tour' was recorded by a documentary crew but Michael was reportedly so unhappy with the end product he fired the filmmakers and gave the only existing copy to an unnamed driver, who has now put it up for sale.

The chauffeur - who claims Michael gave him the film as a "reward or a bonus" for his "transportation services" - kept the tape a secret until the star's death from an overdose of Propofol in June 2009 when he posted a brief clip on YouTube.

Although Michael's record label and lawyers tried to claim exclusive rights to the documentary, a judge ruled in favour of the driver saying it was a gift although it was ruled that he could not make copies.

The two-hour documentary is set to be of huge interest because it features behind-the-scenes images and contains footage of Jordy Chandler, who accused Michael of child abuse before he and his parents settled out of court.

Ted Owen - CEO of Fame Bureau auctioneers, who will be responsible for selling the footage - said: "I'm very excited that this tape is finally going to be seen because of its quality, the amount of cameras used and the sheer closeness you are to the performance when watching it."

Meanwhile, the estate of the late singer has given Queen permission to release previously unheard tracks recorded by Michael and the late Freddie Mercury in the early 80s when the rockers were touring the US.

Guitarist Brian May said: "The Michael Jackson estate are happy for us to go ahead with the music. But it's not something that we can rush.

"I work on things with the view 'to let's see how it goes'. When it is something we feel is worthwhile then it's nice if we could get it out there."

Michael Jackson estate thrills to biopic
Estate has approached Reitman and Pollock's Montecito Picture Company

    By Jeff Sneider
Michael Jackson's estate wants to be starting something in Hollywood: a King of Pop biopic.
With Dr. Conrad Murray's involuntary manslaughter trial now over, John Branca, the executor of the Jackson estate, has approached Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock's Montecito Picture Company about the possibility of producing and financing a Jackson biopic. Project would only cover certain periods of the late singer's life.

Pollock confirmed that the two sides are engaged in early talks but cautioned that there is no deal in place.

A spokesman for Jackson's estate had no comment.

The estate is currently focused on Cirque du Soleil's "Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour," so there is no rush to get the movie into production. However, the fact that the estate is keen to pay tribute to Michael on the bigscreen should have Hollywood agents salivating, as it could be a plum part for an actor. Music-themed biopics "Ray" and "Walk the Line" have provided Oscar-winning roles for Jamie Foxx and Reese Witherspoon, respectively.

Should Montecito close a deal to make the movie, a Jackson biopic would showcase a different style of material than the company is known for.

The shingle launched in 2000 with Todd Phillips' debut feature "Road Trip" and went on to produce successful comedies including Phillips' "Old School" and John Hamburg's "I Love You, Man." In recent years, Montecito has focused on higher-brow fare such as Jason Reitman's "Up in the Air" and Atom Egoyan's "Chloe."

Sony-EMI Deal Reunites Jackson 5 Songs With Michael Jackson

In the years after Michael Jackson became an international superstar, the song “I Want You Back” took on a new, reflexive sort of meaning for him.

Flush with cash from the stratospheric success of his solo career, Jackson thought seriously about buying the publishing rights to some of the songs he’d recorded years earlier as a member of the Jackson 5–including “I Want You Back,” one of hundreds in Motown’s Jobete catalog, then owned by the legendary Berry Gordy and his sister. Despite serious interest from Jackson, who was “like a son” to Gordy, the music mogul sold a 50% stake in the catalog to EMI for $132 million in 1997.

But dreams often take a lifetime to achieve, and the King of Pop seems to have realized this one posthumously. On Friday, a Sony-led team of investors purchased EMI’s entire publishing catalog for $2.2 billion. The group includes billionaire David Geffen, the Blackstone Group’s GSO Capital Partners LP, and none other than the estate of Michael Jackson (its stake is nested within Sony’s 38% share of EMI, according to sources close to the negotiations).

The move makes sense for reasons beyond just the sentimental. Michael Jackson’s estate still co-owns the separate Sony/ATV publishing catalog in a joint venture with Sony; that company, headed by former EMI chief Marty Bandier, will administer the newly-acquired EMI assets on behalf of the investors.

Still, the reunion is little more than a drop in the financial bucket. Because Sony/ATV will soon begin receiving administrative fees from the EMI catalog’s new owners, its own value is likely north of $2 billion as well.

As for Jackson, his estate has raked in half a billion dollars since his death two and a half years ago. And though the King of Pop’s posthumous concert flick was called This Is It, he’s just getting started from a posthumous earnings perspective. Jackson’s Immortal World Tour, a partnership with Cirque du Soleil, is grossing $2.4 million a night; plans call for over 100 shows a year for each of the next three years.

Michael Jackson's Father Breaks Silence in Tell-All Documentary "Confessions of a Father"
Exclusive Documentary Slated for Release in 2012

    December 02, 2011 --

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- GPA Entertainment announced today the pending release of an exclusive documentary featuring 84-year old Joe Jackson, father of pop icon Michael Jackson and self-proclaimed architect of the Jackson family musical empire. Confessions of a Father is compiled from hours of interviews conducted over a two-year period. The feature-length film will offer a fascinating and chilling look at one of the most controversial fathers in show business history. Told from Joe Jackson's unique perspective, the film will cover the Jackson family history from the formation of the Jackson 5 through Michael's tragic death and the subsequent trial and sentencing of his physician, Dr. Conrad Murray. The film's release is planned for 2012, as is the publication of "The Architect," Joe Jackson's autobiography from Atria Books, a division of Simon and Schuster.

Confessions of a Father is produced by Johnny West and award-winning producer George Paige, whose credits include "Michael Jackson...the Legend Continues," and scores of other TV programs and feature films. "For the first time, Joe Jackson lifts the veil and airs the dirty laundry, like it or not," says Paige. "If you think you know the Jackson history, think again."

Filmed partially on location at the Jackson family Havenhurst estate, the documentary will give viewers a never-before-seen look at Michael Jackson's personal theatre and the special room where the Jackson family and Michael's children were home schooled. "We filmed in Gary, Indiana too," says West, who also directed. "Seeing the Jackson house and hearing the voices of people who knew them before, during and after their rise to stardom sheds new light on this intriguing family."

Of special interest will be the newly uncovered audio recording of the Jackson 5 in their first ever studio session. "Big Boy" was recorded at Steel-town Records by Gordon Keith, who appears on camera to talk about guiding the dynamic young performers in those early sessions.

The documentary will have a theatrical release in 2012 before a nationwide home entertainment blu-ray and DVD release.

The trailer will be available shortly at www.jacksondocumentary.com.

Michael Jackson to get Glee treatment after King of Pop's relatives give approval

MICHAEL Jackson's relatives have given their approval for Glee bosses to make a tribute episode.

Co-creator Ryan Murphy has received the Jackson family's "enthusiastic support" after convincing them the show would serve as a respectful homage to the late icon.

The special instalment, due to air in the US on January 24 next year, will feature 10 to 12 of Jackson's classic songs.

The cast of the hit TV musical previously paid tribute to Jackson by recreating his Thriller video on a school football field, while also covering Man In The Mirror and the Jackson 5's hit ABC.

Meanwhile, actor Zac Efron, who will appear in the star-studded New Year's Eve, has appealed to the producers at Glee for a guest role on the show because he's a "huge fan" of Lea Michele.

Efron previously showed off his singing chops in Hairspray and High School Musical, but after working with Glee actress Michele on the set of their upcoming film New Year's Eve, he is eager for another chance to star alongside the beauty on her hit US TV series - and he is hoping executives will cast him as a blood-thirsty criminal.

He tells bloger PerezHilton: "I'm a huge fan of Glee and a huge fan of Lea Michele's work. It looks so fun. I would love to (be on it). Have they had a serial killer yet? It'd be fun to sing about."

The popular high school musical show has already featured a number of guest stars during its three-year run - among them Gwyneth Paltrow, Neil Patrick Harris, John Stamos and Kristin Chenoweth.

And Latin pop stars Ricky Martin and Gloria Estefan have signed on for roles in the show next year.

Michael Jackson household items set for auction

    By Randee Dawn, TODAY.com

Michael Jackson spent his final days in a beautifully appointed private home that was not his own. But the fact that they were his final days now potentially can turn into a financial bonanza for the house's actual owners, who are selling off over 600 items the late singer and his children used and lived with while he rehearsed for his comeback "This Is It" tour in 2009.

The auction will be conducted by Julien's Auctions on Dec. 17; a free exhibit of items from the 100 North Carolwood Drive house will be open as of Dec. 12. As auctioneers Darren Julien and Martin Nolan told TODAY's Ann Curry, they will re-create rooms from the house and place the items up for bid, so that visitors and bidders can get a sense of what it was like to live amongst the furniture and personal items up for grabs -- many of which were marked or written on by Jackson and his children.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

"There's still a demand for his items," said Nolan. "Everywhere around the world people desperately want something, they're very nostalgic, they want a memory. Michael is gone and they want to cling on to something tangible."

One item is an armoire mirror that Jackson wrote a message to himself on: "Train perfection March April May. Full out." As Julien noted, the piece itself (just the mirror visited the TODAY studios) would go for $6,000-$8,000 "but because it was associated with Michael Jackson we anticipate that it will sell for much more."

Other items being shown in the TODAY studio included chairs from "the medication room" in the house and a rooster butler holding up fruit and displaying a chalkboard, on which a child had scribbled: "Love daddy, I heart daddy, smile it's for free." In another instance, a fat yellow candle with engravings by Prince is also up for auction.

"This is stuff that was in a typical family home, and that's what we're trying to show people," said Nolan. "Michael in a beautiful home with his children, normal kids growing up, and this is a part of the memory of that."

A recent Michael Jackson auction didn't go so well; unseen footage from the singer's 1993 "Dangerous" tour failed to sell in London, but tangible items that fans can put their hands on and even perhaps use -- which Michael Jackson also used and put his hands on -- are likely to command a much higher value. And the headboard from the bed in which Jackson actually died has since been removed from the auction. Still, the notion that anything was "typical" in the Jackson household ... that might be something of a harder sell, for any auction house.

Michael Jackson Hairball Sells for Big Money

A wad of Michael Jackson's hair sold for $10,871 to a gambling website who plans on using the pop star's DNA to craft a roulette ball. This must truly be the most bizarre thing done with a piece of music memorabilia and body waste.

It's not entirely unheard of for items to be constructed of human hair, but crafting a roulette ball out of the King of Pop's locks seems super strange. Nonetheless, that's the plan for OnlineGamblingPal.Com. Michael Jackson is dead and gone, but somewhere a roulette wheel will spin with a chunk of his DNA for as long as it withstands it. The people who purchased the small amount of black hair claim that it will be used along with high quality materials to make a proper ball for playing the popular gambling game roulette.

A Gawker writer posed some witty examples of things you could do if you won hair belonging to Michael Jackson. For instance, they suggested fashioning a wig for your hamster. What would you do if you somehow found yourself in possession of a small amount of hair belonging to Michael Jackson? Although it seems strange that a roulette ball will be fashioned from the stuff, at least it won't be glued to some blow-up-doll's head in a crazed fan's shrine!

MJ would have hated old age: Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda has asserted that late pop star Michael Jackson would have hated growing old as he was extremely scared of death.

The actor and the King of Pop became friends in 1980s, and Jackson even stayed with Fonda at her farm in California while she was filming On Golden
    Pond.

Fonda divulged that the superstar, who died in 2009 at the age of 50, had a ‘meltdown’ when she pointed out the place she wanted to be buried, and she believes that his fear of death was so strong that he would have lived a tormented existence if he had reached old age.

“I remember he was visiting me once, I had a ranch in California, Santa Barbara, and I was walking him around, it was how he was introduced to that area, where he eventually bought Never Never Land (Jackson’s Neverland Ranch),” Contactmusic quoted her as telling CNN.

“I was walking around and showing him around and I pointed to the edge of a cliff and said that was were I was going to be buried and I thought that he was going to have a meltdown."

“The notion that I could countenance the fact that I was going to die was an anathema to him - he screamed. And he talked (about) how he would get into an oxygen tank and he thought that was going to keep him alive forever,” she added.

The 73-year-old said that growing old would have been quite a daunting task for Jackson.

“I think growing old would have been very, very, very difficult for Michael, there were a lot of demons chasing that kid,” the actor revealed.

“It would have been hard for him, I wish it could have happened another way but it’s hard to imagine for someone as tormented as he was could have lived a long, and peaceful and natural life,” she added.

WARNING: DON'T KEEP READING IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW. DO NOT CONTINUE ON IF YOU WOULD RATHER BE SURPRISED BY THE SET LIST AND MAJOR PLOT POINTS OF THE EPISODE. IN FACT, JUST STOP READING THIS WARNING RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THE TEMPTATION MIGHT BE TOO GREAT FOR YOU TO WITHSTAND IF YOU KEEP GOING AND GOING AND GOING … STOP!!!

Now that that's taken care off…

On January 24, 2012 (mark your calenders), Michael Week comes to McKinley High. Turns out, the returning Trouble Tone ladies are a bit miffed that they missed out on the big Jackson tribute during sectionals and want a chance to do a few of the King of Pop's hits themselves. Maybe they should of thought of that before they high-tailed it out of the club out of pride.

    But we digress…

There will be a whopping TWELVE MJ musical numbers performed, ranging from his early days with the Jackson 5 to some of his more recent hits.

Now, here is the good stuff. We know of two songs that will be performed and they are both pretty big doozies! The first comes from Darren Criss (swoon!), who will be belting out Wanna Be Startin' Something solo (swoon 2x!). Then, the Warblers will be BACK for a pretty epic (but still a secret) performance. And FINALLY, Rachel and Finn will have their first duet of the season as Cory Monteith and Lea Michele will take on the romantic ballad, I Just Can't Stop Loving You.

SQUEAL!!!! HA! We're super-duper excited for this!!!!

But c'mon! Someone needs to sing The Way You Make Me Feel! If not Darren Criss, maybe… Mark Salling?

Michael Jackson used motivational tapes: Jane Fonda

Michael Jackson used to listen to motivational tapes when he slept.

The late singer -- who died of acute Propofol intoxication in 2009 -- stayed with veteran actress Jane Fonda in 1981, and she was surprised to discover a series of recordings urging him to be a good person that he kept under his pillow.

She told TV talk show host Rosie O'Donnell: "Michael Jackson lived with me for 10 days when I was making "On Golden Pond." He slept on a mattress that he put on the floor, I was in the loft, and there was a tape recorder, and I looked down and I could see a cord under his pillow and it was a tape that he would listen to and it would say, 'You're a good person, it's going to be OK.' "

Meanwhile, the "Thriller" hitmaker's house has been recreated for an auction in Beverly Hills on Saturday.

More than 500 pieces of fine art that filled his home on 100 North Carolwood Drive have joined items including a chalk board with 'love you Daddy' written on and a piano on display ahead of the sale.

However, the bed in which he passed away in will not be sold by Julien's Auctions following a special request from Michael's mother Katherine Jackson.

Michael Jackson's hair to be gambled with

Strands of Michael Jackson's hair are set to be turned into a roulette ball.

OnlineGamblingPal.com bought the locks of the late singer's hair - which were retrieved when he stayed at the Carlyle Hotel in New York before his 2009 death from a Propofol overdose - for US $10,871 and plan to use them to create the unusual tribute to Michael.

The company said in a statement on their website: "OnlineGamblingPal.com is delighted to announce that is has acquired some of pop legend Michael Jackson's hair for $10,871, which will now be transformed into a one-off roulette ball.

"As big Michael Jackson fans, we were left deeply saddened when he passed away in 2009. And to thank him for the years of entertainment he gave us, we wanted to create a unique tribute to the undisputed King of Pop.

"So when we found out that a sample of his hair was to be auctioned off, we seized this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do just that."

The company added it is fitting that the roulette ball will be used to entertain people as the 'Thriller' hitmaker did throughout his life.

"As its proud new owners, we have decided to convert Michael Jackson's hair into a roulette ball - an appropriately unique way to immortalise a small part of a truly peerless entertainer," they said.

"The ball itself will be made to the highest professional standards, ensuring it will be eligible for use at any licensed casino's roulette table. Indeed, considering Jackson dedicated his life to entertaining millions, the prospect of this very special ball captivating crowds at roulette tables seems like a fitting use for it.

"We would therefore like to encourage any casino interested in using this unique ball at its tables to contact us. Together, we can ensure Michael Jackson continues to rock and 'ROLL' forever."

Michael Jackson To Receive Glove Tribute In Hollywood

Michael Jackson will be honoured with an imprint of his shoes and famous sequinned glove outside Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

Michael Jackson will be honoured with an imprint outside Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

The King of Pop's three children, Prince, 14, Paris, 13, and nine-year-old Prince Michael II - known as 'Blanket' - will use his shoes and trademark sequined glove to make handprint and footprint impressions in the concrete.

Making the prints outside the theatre is a long standing Hollywood tradition and Michael's prints will stand alongside those of George Clooney, Marilyn Monroe, Gene Kelly, Clint Eastwood and Brad Pitt.

Also on hand at the event, to be held on January 26, will be the cast of Cirque du Soleil show 'Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour', who will make a presentation.

The Cirque du Soleil production, which is inspired by the late singer's music, is set to tour the US and Canada in 2012 before taking up residency in Las Vegas. Michael also has a star on Hollywood's famous Walk of Fame, which is located a short distance from the theatre.

Michael died in 2009 from acute Propofol intoxication, after years of struggling with addiction to prescription drugs. While his children were shielded from the public - often wearing masks - during their earlier years, they have been in the public eye much more since his death.

Paris recently admitted she felt the masks they wore were "stupid" at the time.

She said: "I'm like, 'This is stupid, why am I wearing a mask?' But I kind of realised the older I got, he only tried to protect us and he'd explain that to us too."

Who Could Make Will.i.am Release Michael Jackson Songs?

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Will.i.am’s work with the late Michael Jackson is music the world might never hear – unless one specific person comes asking.

The Black Eyed Peas guru began working with Jackson in 2006 and quickly formed a close bond with the King of Pop. Due to his untimely death in 2009, the final tracks they collaborated on were never blessed by Jackson, something that has kept them away from the public’s ears.

“Because we became friends, I don’t want to be an opportunist,” Will.i.am told Access Hollywood Live’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Thursday when asked about his work with the late pop star.

Will.i.am has been approached about releasing the tracks, but told Billy and Kit that only one person could get him to drop their collaborations.

“Now if his mom called me and said, ‘We got to do this,’ then yes,” he explained.

Will.i.am has a new single, “T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)” featuring Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger, and a new album, “willpower,” on the way, but despite the group’s side projects (and persistent rumors), he says there are no plans for the Black Eyed Peas to split.

“You guys will be together forever? Billy asked.

“Yes, no doubt about it,” he emphatically said. “I know there [are] probably going to be some time lapses.”

Michael Jackson Fans Suing Conrad Murray For 'Emotional Damage'

A group of Michael Jackson fans are suing the singer's former physician DR. Conrad Murray for "emotional damage" over the star's 2009 death.

Last November (11), Murray was found guilty of administering the fatal dose of anaesthetic propofol which cost the Thriller hitmaker his life.

He was sentenced to four years behind bars for the crime but his legal woes are far from over - members of the Michael Jackson Community, which is based in France, have launched a lawsuit against the imprisoned medic for causing them pain and distress.

Lawyer Emmanuel Ludot filed the documents on behalf of about 100 fans on Friday (06Jan12).

He tells the Afp, "It's similar to losing a childhood friend in a traffic accident. Because this death affects you, you have the possibility to file a suit and seek compensation."

The case is set to be heard in Orleans, France on 11 April (12).

LA County Prosecutors To Receive National Award

Next Tuesday, my friends and colleagues at the Center for Lawful Access and Abuse Deterrence (CLAAD, @claad_coalition) will recognize Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorneys David Walgren and Deborah Brazil for their excellence in the prosecution of Dr. Conrad Murray. CLAAD is a national coalition dedicated to preventing prescription drug diversion, misuse, and abuse.

CLAAD will commend the LA County prosecutors for their national leadership in implementing the policy recommendations set forth in the National Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Strategy (of which I am a primary author). The National Strategy urges prosecutors to exercise moderation and to analyze facts in prescription drug cases from a medical perspective. Some 30 non-profit organizations have endorsed this year’s National Strategy.

Michael Jackson's Robert Burns songs to be released
Singer's collection of showtunes inspired by Burns's poetry could be donated to a Scottish museum by David Gest

A Scottish museum may soon be home to one of Michael Jackson's unreleased albums. More than a decade after Jackson and David Gest recorded songs based on the poetry of Robert Burns, Gest reportedly intends to donate the recordings to the poet's official museum in Ayrshire.

In a career of peculiar projects, it remains one of the singer's strangest: a collection of showtunes inspired by Burns's life and work. The songs have never been made public – it was either overlooked or forgotten in the Jackson estate's search for unreleased material.

Now, after a visit to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Gest has reportedly agreed to donate Jackson's most Scottish songs. "[David] offered to look them out and provide copies [for us]," museum director Nat Edwards told the List. The museum hopes to "produce some sort of CD", as a fundraiser. "[It would] be a way of getting audiences interested in Burns and illustrating his international, enduring artistic legacy," Edwards said.

Gest explained in a recent TV documentary for BBC Alba that he and Jackson were Burns fanatics. "I said to Michael, let's do a play [based on] Burns's life and he said he would help me with the music." Jackson ended up hiring musicians and borrowing the studio at the Jackson family home in Encino, California. "Michael believed in the project so much," Gest said. "We took about eight or 10 of Burns's poems and put them to contemporary music, such as A Red Red Rose, Ae Fond Kiss and the story of Tam O'Shanter."

Although the collaboration was first revealed in 2008, it seems to have taken place in the late 80s. They originally intended to stage a musical, Gest said, produced by actor Anthony Perkins and directed by Gene Kelly. Plans were scuppered after Perkins's death in 1992. Kelly died in 1996. That year, Gest premiered a play based on Burns's life, Red Red Rose.

Best known as the ex-husband of Liza Minnelli, Gest was a contestant on the 2006 series of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. Last year he released a film based on Jackson's life.

'Glee' Star Kevin McHale Says Michael Jackson Ep Includes 'The Coolest Thing I'll Ever Get To Do'

The pretty young things of McKinley High return to the airwaves tonight after a month-long hiatus, and they've got big things up their sleeves for the coming weeks. Including (and especially) that Michael Jackson tribute episode airing January 31. In fact, when we caught up with "Glee" star Kevin McHale on the Golden Globes red carpet this weekend, he couldn't stop gushing about his assignment for "Michael" except what it is he's actually doing.

"I'm a part of three songs. Well, I'm in more but I sing three songs," he said. "I'm getting to do something that's probably the coolest thing I'll ever get to do in my life. I really, really mean that.

"I can't say," he continued, when MTV News' Josh Horowitz asked the obvious question. "It's a duet with Harry. Something within that is so freakin' cool, that, yeah, it's insane."

We'll take your word for it, Kevin. In the meantime, what are your thoughts on "Glee" not getting a spin-off?

"I'll go with whatever they choose," Kevin said of the producers' decision not to launch a separate show. "I think they always do the right thing. Selfishly, I'm happy because everyone gets to stay because I will be there. There were, like, four of us left. I get to terrorize them for another year."

Such an optimistic young lad, that one.

'Glee' Star Chris Colfer Teases Michael Jackson Tribute Episode
'I sing part of 'Black [or] White.' I'm the 'white' in 'Black [or] White,' ' actor reveals on the Golden Globes red carpet.

Fox's song-and-dance series "Glee" is no stranger to a star-studded cameo or two, with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, John Stamos and Kristin Chenoweth all walking the halls of McKinley High during the past two and a half seasons. And as the show returns from a month-long hiatus, Gleeks aren't the only ones anticipating a few more famous faces. As star Chris Colfer told MTV News on the Golden Globes red carpet, there's plenty to look forward to when New Directions warble again January 17.

"Well, the Michael Jackson episode ...," Colfer answered when asked about his most-anticipated upcoming episodes. "We have a Spanish episode coming up with Ricky Martin. We have a Valentine's Day episode coming up, so that's going to be fun."

Martin is slated to play "the hottest Spanish teacher ever in the history of Ohio," according to TVLine. The actor/singer recently tweeted a joyful picture from his first day on set.

As to how the King of Pop's prolific songbook will manifest itself in the January 31 tribute episode, Colfer explained, "Well, I sing part of 'Black [or] White.' I'm the 'White' in 'Black [or] White,' and I sing 'Ben,' that famous song he wrote for the rat."

The rodent in question is the pet of a young boy named Danny in the 1972 film "Ben." Jackson sang a version of the theme song that appeared in the movie's closing credits and was later included on his 1972 album also named Ben. The track "Black or White" was the first single off of Jackson's 1991 album Dangerous.
