RIP to Steve Jobs. Not many ppl knew that Mr. Jackson and Steve Jobs were friends, they spoke often. Mr Jobs sent 12 iPhones to Mr Jackson two weeks before they went on sale to the public. Mr. Jackson gave Bill and BJ iPhones for xmas and had them personally engraved.

R.I.P. Steve Jobs ... още един приятел на Майкъл отиде при него ...

Jackson family to stage Japanese benefit concert

    By: Bang Showbiz

    Posted: 10/10/2011 5:30 AM

Michael Jackson's family are staging a benefit concert to help children affected by the Japanese earthquake.

The King of Pop's mother Katherine Jackson has announced the Tokyo event will help a cause that her superstar son - who died of acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009 - would have done everything he could to support.

Speaking at a press conference at Claridge's hotel in London yesterday (09.10.11), she tearfully told BANG Showbiz: "If Michael was alive, he would definitely have done something to help the victims of the earthquake in Japan. Michael loved children, he would have felt for those children who lost parents or homes."

Michael's brothers will perform at the show as The Jacksons, and 81-year-old Katherine - who is the guardian of Michael's three children, Paris, Prince Michael and 'Blanket' - is very "glad to see them back on stage".

The 'Thriller' singer's brothers can't wait to get to the country and do something to help the Japanese people affected by the natural disaster which hit the coast of the Far East country in March.

Jackie Jackson said: "This concert can help children. I'm glad I can put smile on their faces again."

Marlon Jackson added: "Music can bring us together. Children can't live without guidance. We want to point out kids to right direction. I'm pleased music can help other people."

Tito Jackson - who visited Japan after the earthquake - spoke of his belief that music can unify communities all over the world.

He said: "People can become one, as human race."

Merchandising profits from 'Michael Jackson Tribute Live' - which will take place in Tokyo on December 13 and 14 - will be donated to ASHINAGA, a charity which helps children who lost their homes or families in the March earthquake.

Tickets will go on sale on October 12.

La Toya Shines In ANTM’s Weird, Michael Jackson-Themed Episode

The theme of last night's photo shoot on America's Next Top Model: All-Stars was "Michael Jackson Through The Years," or something, but it didn't really matter because La Toya Jackson was there for guidance. Though the episode felt suspiciously-timed — with the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray happening right now — it was a serious affair, and all the ladies were extremely focused. And yes, not only were the contestants cross-dressing in ornate, bedazzled outfits, trying to emulate the King Of Pop while his sister watched, some of them were given brown makeup to make their skin darker. But hey, it's not like Tyra Banks' team hasn't been accused of doing blackface makeup before. But anyway: La Toya was super nice! And, unfortunately, a little on the creepy side… She kept speaking about her dead brother in the present tense.

But like I said, she was super nice. So nice, in fact, that when it came down eliminations — which Tyra let La Toya decide for herself — she refused to kick anyone off the show. La Toya felt that Michael "wouldn't want to see you guys go home. He wants to see you try harder." Sure he does! I think Angelea, who was up for elimination, put it best when she said, "I feel like somebody saved me. It could have been La Toya, it could have been Michael, it could have been Jesus."

Michael Jackson's Dermatologist Tells 'Extra': 'Michael was Not a Drug Addict'

Michael Jackson's best friend and dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, sets the record straight with "Extra's" Jerry Penacoli about allegations in the involuntary manslaughter trial against Conrad Murray.

Dr. Klein sat down with Penacoli to discuss the trial in which the defense is claiming Jackson was addicted to Demerol and other prescription drugs. The physician stated, "Michael was not a drug addict."

    video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

Penacoli questioned if he thought Conrad Murray is guilty. Klein nodded, "There's no question. You can't deliver drugs when you're incompetent." He also added that propofol should not be used at home "unless your having your appendix out at home."

Klein also responded to the lingering rumor that he's the biological father of one or two of Jackson's children.

Did he provide the sperm, Penacoli asked Klein directly? "I'll tell you this... His son [Prince] is very handsome. I have no answer other than that." Even with an uncanny resemblance, Klein concluded, "the children are Michael Jackson's children, they're not my children."

    Michael Jackson Estate: What's Next?
Post-Conrad Murray trial projects include Fan Fest in Las Vegas, Bad reissue and Cirque du Soleil's 'Immortal' soundtrack.

Michael Jackson has remained just as big a star in death as he was in life — if not bigger. Like Elvis, Bob Marley, Frank Sinatra and Tupac Shakur before him, interest in all things Jackson spiked following the singer's death and continues to be strong two years after his shocking passing on June 25, 2009.

Jackson's name has been in the news on a daily basis over the past month thanks to the involuntary manslaughter trial of his former physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, who was found guilty, the jury announced Monday. It's not the kind of publicity the Jackson estate is looking for, but with the trial now over, the focus will likely turn to the next projects from the singer's vaults.

To date, the estate has been busy lining up one project after another, beginning with 2009's This Is It, the documentary on Jackson's planned comeback tour that grossed close to $200 million worldwide on its way to becoming the #2 music documentary of all time.

That was followed by the release of Michael, a posthumous album with unreleased Jackson tracks that sold more than 500,000 copies, alongside more than 1 million units of the This Is It soundtrack. There were also 3 million units shifted of the Ubisoft video game "Michael Jackson: The Experience," which helped rack up the more than $1 billion the estate has brought in since Jackson's death through a combination of music sales, film/TV revenue, music publishing, licensing and a $31 million recording contract with Sony.

Cirque du Soleil's traveling MJ extravaganza, "Immortal," made its American debut this month, boasting a soundtrack that features a number of mash-ups and reimaginings of the singer's music, plus some previously unheard bits. The show's soundtrack is slated to hit stores November 21.

When the show hits Las Vegas in December, it will coincide with the annual Michael Jackson Fan Fest (December 3-14), the ritual gathering of the flock that this year will include a raft of never-before-seen memorabilia from the King of Pop. Among the items at the first-ever estate-authorized fest at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino are the actual gates of Neverland Ranch, Jackson's personal book collection, the 1999 Rolls Royce Seraph limousine with 24-karat gold embellishments designed by the singer, the 10-foot-tall HIStory statue, the spaceship set from the "Scream" video, the throne from the Egyptian-themed "Remember the Time" clip and the tank from the "Earth Song" live performance.

Also reportedly due soon is a repackaging of Jackson's 1987 Bad album, which, like previous reissues, is expected to feature previously unearthed bonus material. The original album featured landmark songs such as the title track, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You," "The Way You Make Me Feel," "Man in the Mirror," "Smooth Criminal" and "Dirty Diana."

Given the amount of unreleased material that was reportedly left in the vaults at Jackson's death, there is a strong possibility that another album of unheard tunes could be in the offing soon as well.

Did British documentary pay for Murray's costly defense?
Michael Jackson's physician, convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the singer's death, was deeply in debt when he began working for Jackson. NBC purchased the film for broadcast this weekend.

By Harriet Ryan and James Rainey, Los Angeles Times

    November 10, 2011
The verdict is in, the jury has been dismissed, and Dr. Conrad Murray sits behind bars, but one question about the trial of Michael Jackson's doctor remains: Who paid for the defense?

Speculation about how the cash-strapped physician funded an expansive legal team focused Wednesday on a British documentary made with Murray's cooperation and purchased recently by NBC for broadcast on its cable network MSNBC this weekend. Representatives of Jackson's estate demanded the network cancel the program, entitled "Michael Jackson and the Doctor: A Fatal Friendship," in part because of unanswered questions about whether Murray was compensated for giving filmmakers interviews and allowing camera crews to follow him and his lawyers.

"We would like to know how much money in total was paid for this privileged 'access,' " estate co-executors John Branca and John McClain wrote in a letter Wednesday to executives at NBC, MSNBC and its parent company, Comcast. "It doesn't matter to us if it was a production company, Comcast, NBC Universal or MSNBC that paid for access to Dr. Murray because all are morally culpable."

Murray was in debt close to $800,000 on the day Jackson died and his financial circumstances worsened in the months that followed as intense media coverage hurt his ability to earn money as a cardiologist. But after signing a deal with a British producer in 2009, he was able to assemble a defense team that included four attorneys, a jury consultant, a publicist, and a host of medical experts. He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter Monday.

Those involved in the documentary refused to discuss details of the deal with Murray. They repeatedly reiterated a statement by October Films, the London-based production company, that it paid only a nominal $1 fee to Murray. Left unaddressed, though, were questions about whether the doctor received a portion of fees paid by television outlets in Britain, Australia and at least 10 other countries that will air the program.

The circumstances surrounding the documentary raise a host of thorny issues, including how carefully NBC investigated the provenance of a film that offered exclusive interviews and footage in a highly competitive news story, and whether the doctor violated a court-imposed gag order, even as he shielded from his own lawyers the extent of his cooperation with the filmmakers.

In the final days of his manslaughter trial, Murray sat for wide-ranging interviews about Jackson's death with NBC and a British outlet as part of the documentary package those networks purchased. Murray's criminal attorneys said they were never told of the interviews, given despite their warnings about "the dangers of talking about June 25th" — the day the singer died

"They just didn't tell me because they know I'd freak out," said lead defense attorney Ed Chernoff, who said he learned of the interviews the morning after the verdict when portions aired on NBC.

Murray, who decided not to take the stand in his own defense, is in jail pending sentencing later this month and could not be reached for comment.

All payments to Murray's lawyers came directly from the doctor, not the filmmakers, Chernoff said. He acknowledged telling Murray shortly after they met that financial resources were crucial to a court case in which the prosecution seemed to have an unlimited budget for forensic experts and investigators.

"I told him early and I told him often that the only way he was going to be able to defend himself was to have money. He had to fund his case or he would never be able to defend himself," Chernoff said.

At the time Murray's Las Vegas home was in foreclosure. He was behind on child support and student loan payments. He owed money to credit companies and a medical equipment supplier. And because Jackson never signed his contract, Murray never received any of the $150,000-a month fee he was supposed to get as the singer's personal physician.

Subsequently, Murray was approached by Leon Lecash, a British photographer turned entrepreneur whose ventures included a butler service that, according to one press report, "promises to solve any problem." Lecash was among hundreds of outlets begging Murray for an interview, but according to the doctor's former publicist, Miranda Sevcik, Lecash's company – what's it all about? productions – was the only one willing to delay broadcast until after a verdict.

"This was the only group that approached us that agreed to that caveat — until all litigation was complete," Sevcik said.

Camera crews began trailing Murray to church, his charity clinic in Houston and meetings with his lawyers. Chernoff said he sought advice from the California State Bar before agreeing to be filmed. The doctor began providing him money, he said, but he never asked about the source.

"It wasn't pertinent to what I was doing," he said. Asked whether he assumed the money came from the documentary, Chernoff replied, "I can't say that because I don't know for sure."

Others on Murray's team said they agreed to be filmed, but purposefully avoided discussions about the documentary and Murray's deal with producers.

"I specifically asked not to be involved in any of the financial aspects," said defense publicist Mark Fierro.
Michael Jackson's physician, convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the singer's death, was deeply in debt when he began working for Jackson. NBC purchased the film for broadcast this weekend.
Filming continued throughout the trial even after the judge issued a gag order barring lawyers from discussing the case outside of court.

In October, before the defense had even rested its case, the filmmakers began shopping the documentary to broadcast and cable networks. They wanted close to $500,000 for American rights, according to a source at a network that passed on the film, and were offering a sit-down interview with Murray. NBC bought the rights and began airing clips of Murray describing Jackson's last moments on "The Today Show" the morning after the verdict. The documentary is set to air on MSNBC on Friday night and again Sunday.

XContents of Michael Jackson's rental home to be auctioned NBC declined to say what it paid the filmmakers, but said in a statement, "Neither Dr. Murray nor his legal defense were compensated in any way."

A network source added that October Films had assured NBC that no part of the licensing fee would make its way to the doctor or his lawyers. The network did not respond to follow-up questions, including whether it had asked if Murray was paid through Zodiak Rights, the British company handling international distribution.

Zodiak boasted in a news release the day Murray was convicted that the company had presold the documentary in more than a dozen countries, but the company did not respond to questions about whether any of the money had been passed on to Murray.

When pressed about why the deeply indebted physician — who initially demanded $5 million a year to work for Jackson — would have granted camera crews access for only $1, a publicist for October Films replied, "You have to look at Zodiak. You would need to talk to Zodiak Rights about the international rights."

Van Gordon Sauter, president of CBS News in the 1980s, said NBC's payment to the production company effectively paved the way for the exclusive interview with Murray, a practice frowned on by most mainstream news organizations.

"I don't know how you can look at that and not come to the conclusion that they were paying for the interview," said Sauter, who worked as a journalism professor and public television executive after leaving CBS. He said that practice is disdained because it makes news organizations appear to be in alliance with newsmakers, potentially encouraging subjects to embellish their stories.

"This doesn't strike me as something that's appropriate," Sauter said. "MSNBC is spending a lot of time talking [in promotions] about 'Leaning forward,' and I think this is tripping backward."

There is a long history of media outlets paying newsmakers, even notorious ones, for access. The man accused of kidnapping the Lindbergh baby was defended by an acclaimed lawyer, with payments coming from the Hearst Newspapers in exchange for exclusive access to the defendant, Bruno Richard Hauptmann.

Testimony in a hearing last year revealed that ABC had paid $200,000 to Casey Anthony, accused of murdering her daughter Caylee. The money reportedly went to "license" the use of the Anthony family's photos and videos and was available for Anthony's defense. After a wave of bad publicity, ABC said it would in the future not make such payments, which a network spokesman called an unnecessary "crutch" to good news gathering.

Транскрипция на първата част /8 минути/ от 15 минутното интервю на Мъри за NBC, която е била излъчена днес в Америка.

Conrad Murray - NBC Today Show Interview - Part 1 - Aired 11-10-2011

Savannah: Michael Jackson was one of the most beloved entertainers in this country, around the world. what is like to be blamed for his death ?

Murray: Well I love Michael too. I'm as much of a fan as any of the others. To be blamed for his death has not been an easy thing.

(Voice over) Murray first met Michael Jackson during a house call in Las Vegas at 2006 and then saw him on and off from that point forward.

    (Video of TII announcement)

(Voice over) When Jackson agreed to a comeback tour in 2009, he wanted his own full time doctor with him and the concert promoter agreed to hire Jackson's pick Dr. Murray for a salary of $150,000 a month.

Savannah: Do you now wish that you never met Michael Jackson?

Murray: (I don't want to?) put blame on Michael as an individual. I'm not sure I regret that I meet Michael, I only wish maybe in our dealings with each other he was more forthcoming and honest to tell me things about himself.

Savannah: You think he lied to you?

    Murray: Definitely.

    Savannah: About what?

Murray : Well certainly he was deceptive by not sharing with me his whole medical history, the doctors he was seeing, the treatments he might have been receiving.

(video of Walgren at trial talking about medicines)

(Voice over) In court prosecutors laid out dozens of prescription bottles found in Michael Jackson's home days after his death. A pharmacopia of pain killers, anti depressants and anti anxiety medications.

Savannah: Did you really not know he had an addiction problem?

Murray : Absolutely not. did not have a clue.

Savannah: But wait a minute, you knew he was seeing other doctors. on bedside there are all these prescriptions with other doctors names on it.

Murray : I cannot prevent Michael from seeing other doctor for whatever reason.

Savannah: When he hired you, you must have realized the main reason he hired you was to give him this drug Propofol.

    Murray: No. Not at all.

Savannah: But when he hired you full time one of the first actions you took was to start buying Propofol and sending it to California.

Murray : Absolutely that's not correct. First of all I met Michael with Propofol. This was not something that I introduced to Michael.

(voice over) In fact Murray was hired in March 2009 and between April and June of that year prosecutors say he ordered 255 vials of Propofol adding up to more than 4 gallons for Jackson's personal use.

    (video of security footage)

(voice over) For 2 months Jackson came home late at night for rehearsals and Dr. Murray's work day began. Setting up Michael with an IV in his bedroom, administering Propofol to help him sleep.

Savannah: To you there's still nothing wrong with giving Propofol in a home setting?

Murray: I think Propofol is not recommended to be given in a home setting but it's not contraindicated.

Savannah: Was it wrong for you to give it in the conditions in which you gave it to Michael Jackson?

Murray: I look at Mike's condition but Michael - not as giving it but trying to find a method to take away something from him that I felt he should not be using on his own.

Savannah: but why didn't you just walk away?

Murray: I should have walked away but if also I walked away I would have abandoned a friend.

(voice over) Dr. Murray claims he was weaning Jackson off the drug.

Savannah: Why should anyone believe that after 60 days of administering Propofol that suddenly in those last few days you decided to stop giving him Propofol? Why should anyone believe that?

Murray: Well I tell you what. That happened. 3 days towards his death he was weaned off and I was success- I was extremely happy. because I finally received the state I wanted. The state was Michael away from Propofol.

(voice over) Whatever his state was that night, at trial one of the most shocking pieces of evidence showed Michael Jackson in early May under the influence of something

(partial audio of May 10 recording)

(voice over) The slurred voice of Michael Jackson 6 weeks before his death in a recording police found out on Conrad Murray's iPhone.

Savannah: What was the purpose of recording him in that state?

Murray : It was incidentally recorded.

    Savannah: You mean an accident?

Murray: Yeah it was an accident.

Savannah: When did you find out that it had been recorded?

    Murray: In court.

    Savannah: During the opening statements?

    Murray: H-hmm.

(another part of May 10 recording is played)

Murray : I ask him a question "Are you okay?" , I'm heard saying that to Michael. Then he says yes and then the next thing I heard is that he says "I'm asleep".

    Savannah: Was he on Propofol?

    Murray : He was.

    (footage from TII movie)

(Voice over) Although he desperately wanted that comeback, Michael Jackson's days was numbered and Dr. Murray was the last person to ever to see Michael Jackson alive.

Savannah: How much pressure did you feel to get him to sleep?

Murray : Tremendous, tremendous. It was like nothing that I had ever encountered.

Savannah: You are the last person to see him or talk to him before he died. What was he like in those final hours?

    Murray: A desperate man. Desperate.

Savannah : Are you the cause of Michael Jackson's death?

    Murray: No. I'm not.

Savannah: Do you remember his final words before he died?

Murray: (thinks for a while) It was probably - I don't know - Probably when he was pleading and begging me to please please let him have some milk because that was the only thing that would work.

Tomorrow he'll answer : why he didn't call 911 right away, why he didn't tell paramedics that he had given Propofol and how long was he really out of the room.

Омръзна ми да цитирам някой, който е признат за виновен за убийството на Майкъл. Трябваше да можем да цитираме самия Майкъл!

    Michael Jackson
Former Manager Says Propofol Use Began in 1999

Michael Jackson took Propofol as early as 1999, a former manager claims in a new book -- and says Jackson was late to his 30th anniversary concerts because he was drugged up.

Frank Cascio, a former personal assistant to Jackson who eventually became his close friend and manager, writes that he first noticed Jackson taking Demerol in 1993 during his "Dangerous" tour. He says Jackson was first introduced to the drug in 1984, after Jackson burned his head during a Pepsi commercial shoot.

In the book, an advanced copy of which was obtained by the AP, Cascio claims Jackson took Propofol in 1999 after a stage accident in Munich.

Cascio says he spoke to Jackson's siblings about his drug use in 2001 and they tried to approach Jackson about it -- but MJ "simply pushed them away."

Writing about Jackson's death, Cascio says Michael "died in his endless quest to attain some inner peace."
